Test Preparation

Courses are offered for the SAT, ACT, SSAT, GED, GRE, GMAT, ASFAB and LSAT.

In providing a comprehensive educational resource, we understand the importance of test preparation as a learning skill. We also appreciate the competitive nature of independent school, college, and graduate school admissions and the importance of scoring well on the required standardized tests. Our Test Preparation programs have been designed to help students maximize their scores while relieving the anxiety often associated with multiple-choice tests.

Parker Tutoring’s approach to test preparation reflects our belief in individualized programs. Through diagnostic testing and analysis, we set specific goals and strategies for each student. In providing one-to-one tutorials, we are able to continually assess the strengths and needs of students and help them focus on the specific strategies that will allow them to reach their potential. Students learn how the test is organized, how to manage their time properly and to develop their own approach to taking a standardized test.

Students will be assigned several hours of homework each week. Each assignment is designed to help students practice the skills and strategies taught in the tutorial sessions. We have found that those students who dedicate themselves to significant additional studies, outside the direct instruction time, see far greater improvement on their test scores.
