Summers at Parker: Extended School Year (ESY)

Parker Academy offers a four-week Extended School Year (ESY) program each July for students whose IEPs include ESY services. The program runs Monday through Friday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and helps students maintain the skills they've built throughout the school year.

While academic skills are woven into each day, ESY is intentionally designed to feel different from school. Students strengthen social pragmatics, emotional regulation, and overall wellness through hands-on experiences such as gardening, fishing, outdoor games, Parker Olympics, and community-based field trips. Movement and time outdoors are an important part of every day.

For new students, ESY provides an opportunity to meet peers and staff, build relationships, and become comfortable with the Parker community before the school year begins.

Parker Academy has great services and accommodations. I struggled with many subjects. The teacher to student ratio allows more one on one time here and was very helpful. I discovered many hobbies at Parker and the evnironment cultivated what would become my passions.
