Financial Literacy for High Schoolers & Young Adults

This individualized, skills-based program is designed to help high school students and young adults learn how to manage their own money with confidence. Instruction is personalized based on each student’s current skills, goals, and real-life financial responsibilities, recognizing that students enter this work with very different needs and experiences.
Depending on the student, sessions may focus on budgeting and managing personal income, understanding checking and savings accounts, using debit and credit cards responsibly, or building healthy spending habits. Students learn how credit works, what impacts a credit score, and how to make informed decisions to avoid unnecessary debt.
The program can also include longer-term planning based on individual goals, such as saving for college, trade programs, housing, transportation, or independent living. Concepts like loans, interest, and basic investing are introduced as appropriate, always grounded in real-world scenarios that reflect the student’s own financial life.
This program supports students in developing practical skills, confidence, and independence by teaching them how to make thoughtful financial decisions that align with their personal goals and circumstances.
